Job Purpose

We are seeking a full-time Digital Marketing Executive to support marketing work across a range of clients with our team at Virtual Marketers. Your job will be to support digital marketing efforts for a number of our new and existing clients to increase their leads and sales, build brand awareness, and increase customer retention.

You will support the delivery of digital marketing campaigns, digital advertising, website enhancements, SEO optimisation, social media management and more. Key to the role will be building strong relationships internally and with multiple clients, helping to optimise digital performance across all channels and providing input into client reporting.

This role supports multiple clients and projects, along with our internal marketing squad framework and works with our wider team to deliver the best results for our clients.

You’ll work from home, unless you're Wellington based as you can join us in our co-working space with our Wellington team or a combination that suits you.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

The areas of focus for this position are:

  • 30% Digital Advertising, Websites & SEO
  • 30% Social Media Management
  • 30% Email Marketing, CRMs & Automation
  • 10% Client Management Support, Administration & Delivery


Digital Advertising, Websites & SEO:

  • Support digital advertising campaigns including Google Ads (SEM), PPC, Social Media Advertising and other digital media;
  • Support digital specialists to manage client website requirements including design, maintenance, website copy and new landing pages;
  • Support the development and implementation of SEO strategies and optimisation projects,
  • Become a confident user and administrator of all tools used by Virtual Marketers including SEO software, Google Analytics, Google Business Accounts, Canva, Social Media Ad Platforms, Slack and any other software tools we use;
  • Support with insights research for clients and assist in making data driven recommendations on all web and digital advertising projects.


Social Media Management:

  • Support development and delivery of social media content strategies to grow client brand awareness, leads, and engagement;
  • Support marketing specialists to write, create and design content that optimises client social media engagement across multiple platforms;
  • Support social ad strategies with organic content strategies to deliver well rounded social media campaigns.


Email Marketing, CRMs & Automation:

  • Support the development and delivery of email marketing campaigns and programmes through a variety of email marketing platforms;
  • Support the development and optimisation of a client’s email campaigns to create quality segments for personalised marketing emails;
  • Support the implementation of customer lifecycle automation workflows within CRMs and other content management tools to create ‘always-on’ email communications for clients.


Client Management Support, Administration & Delivery:

  • Support client management through effective communication to your Manager on campaign results, recommendations, and ensure all client deadlines are met;
  • Support your team in the delivery of excellent client service throughout the year;
  • Support your team grow revenue and deliver as much value as possible for our clients;
  • Support regular client reporting, billing and resource scheduling
  • Research and analyse market trends, demographics, pricing, competitor products, and other relevant information to form marketing strategies;
  • Support our marketing contractors (such as graphic designers, website developers, video creators etc.) to deliver client requirements on time and within the agreed scope of hours.


Skills, Experience and Education

  • 2-3 years+ proven digital marketing experience.
  • An operational drive to initiate and progress projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of analytical software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with website CMS’ including WordPress and Webflow.
  • Experience with PPC, retargeting, and display advertising.
  • Experience tracking digital marketing campaign success through Google Analytics, SEO software, or analytic tools.
  • Experience with CRM databases and automation tools.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms.
  • Proficiency in Canva.
  • Willingness to keep abreast of industry innovations.

In addition to the above required experience, our ideal candidate will have these preferred skill sets:

  • Certifications in SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, PPC, Google Ads, Facebook Ads.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Experience working with Adobe Suite.
  • Intermediate copywriting and editing skills.
